The whole point of AgentBox is that your data stays yours. So when we built AgentBox Home, "encrypted" couldn't be a checkbox — it had to be something you can understand, control, and in the strongest case, physically hold. That's where the Privacy Key comes in.

Encryption is included — always

Every AgentBox encrypts data on the device out of the box. Access is gated by your own user account, password and PIN, and nothing leaves the house unless you explicitly ask it to search the web. For most households, that's exactly the right balance of safety and simplicity, with no extra hardware to manage.

What the Privacy Key adds

A password protects against someone guessing their way in. It does less against someone who walks off with the box. The Privacy Key is an optional physical security key that ties decryption to a device only you hold. Pull the key and the data is sealed — even with the hardware in hand, there's nothing to read. It's the difference between a lock and a lock whose key never lives in the same place as the door.

Priced to be a no-brainer

We didn't want strong privacy to be a luxury tier. The Privacy Key will be $199 normally, but during launch we're selling it at roughly cost — $99 — so early owners can lock down their box from day one.

The bigger idea: own your AI

Hardware-backed encryption only means something when you actually own the hardware. You can't physically secure a model running in someone else's data center. AgentBox is built on the opposite premise — the compute, the model and the data all live on metal you control. The Privacy Key is just the sharpest expression of that idea.
